Daris was my Dad's (Morris) last living sibling. BTW - I never knew that's how her name was spelled! I always knew her as Aunt Doris. We lived in Winnsboro until i was about six years old. When the family went back there for a visit, it usually included going to see Doris and Skeen. I thought they had the coolest house. I was fascinated by the goldfish pond. And yes, there were always cats around. But the thing I enjoyed the most was going to the house on Lake Winnsboro. We would fish for bream from the pier, take them back up to the house and they would be cleaned and fried up whole. They had to be really crisp so you could even eat the tail! Nothing better! I seem to remember lake neighbors named Denver (?) who made sausage? I'm sorry I was not able to be there Monday. Thomas Lee's daughter, Deb, told me about it but one of my daughters was graduating that weekend and I had houseguests. I lost my mother (Sybil) about three years ago so I know what the family is going through. Take comfort in the knowledge that she is happy and back with all her family.
