Obituary for Valencia Jean Hadley

It was an incredible balm day in May, the 18th in fact, of 1971that an energetic little Valencia Jean was born to Sis. Gloria Tabb and Bro. Henry Murphy in Boston, Massachusetts. Little Valencia grew and blossomed until she completed the Timilty School and progressed until she graduated from Madison Park High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston in Early Childhood Department.

Our Sis. Valencia served this country in the National Guard for 4 years. She was a professional in the lives of young people laboring with Children’s Services and in the Department of Transitional Assistance.

She joined Grant African Methodist Episcopal Church under the Pastorate of Rev. Ronald McCall. She was active in the Young People’s Department and sang in the Junior Choir, always in Sunday school.

On Saturday morning, April 28, 2018, Sis. Valencia answered the voice of the God who created her and was escorted into the presence of the living God.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her mother, Sis. Gloria Tabb of Boston, MA., her father, Bro. Henry Murphy of Alabama, two brothers, Maurice Tabb and Eric Tabb of Boston, MA., three siblings, Sis. Rosylin of Alabama, Sis. Valerie of Alabama, Sis. Sophie of Florida. Also grieving her loss are her aunts, Sis. Shirley Edwards, and Sis. Emma Chappell, her nephew, Bro. Maurice Tabb, Jr. of Boston, MA., Missing her will be her two godchildren, Sis. Chuna Johnson and Sis.
