Lila Hazel  Straight

Lila Hazel Straight, 85, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2018 at Edgerton Hospital and Health Services. Lila was born on January 12, 1933 to Clarence and Irene (Bennett) Martin. Lila was a generous and loving person who touched the lives of everyone she met. Above all, Lila cherished her family. Lila loved telling stories about driving her Model T and her love for horses, especially the one she shared with her sister Clara, named Major.
Lila married Leonard Carl Straight on February 2, 1952. She took pride in raising her five wonderful children. She was very devoted to her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness and loved teaching others about her God, Jehovah. Lila loved to share all of her knowledge and many talents. She loved to spend her time cooking for family and friends and was also a talented cake decorator.
Lila will be forever remembered by her children: Debra Hill, Curt (Susan) Straight, Renie (Kurt) Weber, and Mark (Dina) Straight. Her grandchildren: Nickole (Mike) Crawford, Ruth Haigh, Melody (Jeff) Christopherson, Carl Hill, Michael Wallace (Nikki), Kyle (Trona) Straight, Lance Straight, Jordan (Jazmin) Straight. Her great-grandchildren: Tyler Crawford (Samantha), Austin Crawford, Evan and Stephan Andros, James, Kaitlyn, Kaleb, and Gabe Wallace, Graham, Farrah, Hermoine Straight, and Hudson Straight, and her great-great-grandchildren Wyatt and Jade, her sister Clara Hansberry, and several nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband Leonard, brother Lyle, sister Jeannie, brother- in- law Laurence, son Jack (Joyce), and grandchildren Jeremy and Jared.
Family, friends, and others touched by Lila are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall at 650 Newark Rd, Beloit WI starting at 4:30 p.m. with the, with services starting at 5:30 p.m. Please visit Fosterfuneralhomes.com to share stories and pictures.
She meant so much to her family. She meant so much to her friends. There is a piece missing from all of us that will never be filled. For all that she was, and all that she did, made us who we are. We are all grateful that she was in our lives and she will be deeply missed. We love you.
