To leave the only world it has known would seem a kind of death. but immediately after birth the child would find itself in loving arms, showered with affection and cared for at every moment. I hope this reaches you, but I am not sure how to connect else wise. I feel completely heartbroken for you all. Though my time with Mia was short at CHOP, and I was only a student, the impact you and your family had on me was immeasurable. I loved her cute smile, but her sassy stares when we entered the room to 'play' at seemingly inopportune times were much better. I leave you with a simple, happy recollection of your daughter. I know you have several more but my memory of Mia will remain like the day she was hysterically laughing when her and David were rolling those plastic balls up and down the large red wedge. Mia's life was filled with so much joy and love thanks to you both, I am glad I got to be a witness even for a few months. Mia will forever be in my heart and a part of why I do my job each and everyday.
