Obituary for Sibyl Alice Eubanks (Isgrig)

Sibyl Alice Eubanks, the daughter of Edwin and Sibyl (Shepard) Isgrig, was born February 21, 1918, in Superior, Iowa. She passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, at the age of 100 years and 3 months.
She was baptized at Superior Methodist Church. She received her education in Superior school.
Sybil married Daymond Eubanks in 1934. They were married 68 years until Daymond passed away on November 9, 2002. She and Daymond were engaged in farming for many years. Sybil was actively involved in operating the tractor during planting and harvest seasons. She raised chickens and maintained a huge garden and flower bed. She canned vegetables from her garden and prepared many meals for working men.
Sybil was known for her delicious pie making skills. In her leisure time she loved going dancing with Daymond and was a lifetime member of the Pioneer Club. After moving to Estherville in 1979, she took up the hobby of china painting, which she enjoyed for many years. She crocheted many afghans, sharing them with her family and friends. She also loved caring for her flowers and most especially spending time with family. She took delight in every visit, phone call and card. Sibyl was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville. The couple enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. For hobbies, she did needle work, china painting and quilting.
Sibyl is survived by her daughter, Barbara Mace of Estherville; son, Dennis Eubanks and his wife, Joyce of Sacramento, California and Spirit Lake, Iowa; grandchildren, Tammy Place and her husband, Don of Durant, Iowa; Bret Mace and his wife, Sherry of Estherville; Tanya Doyle and her husband, Jerry of Spirit Lake; Kyle D. Mace and David Sookram of New York City, New York; Stacey Eubanks and his wife Dena of Eugene, Oregon; Jason Eubanks and his fiancé, Susan of Post Falls, Idaho; great-grandchildren, Christian Place, John Place, Meredith Taylor, J.D. Eubanks, Cole Mace, Brock Mace, Wren Doyle; great-great-grandchildren, Aidan and Sebastian Place and many loving nieces and nephews. She has been preceded in death by her husband, Daymond; son, Douglas in 1993; daughter, Bobette Hill in 2014; sons-in-law, Charles Mace and Rich Hill and brothers, Edwin, Elvy, Leslie, Lyle, Doran and Vern.
