Obituary for Elaine Cecelia Graham (Gibbons)

Bangor - Elaine C. Graham, 91, wife of the late John R. Graham, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brewer, February 3, 1927, the daughter of Harold and M. Estelle (Oakes) Gibbons. She was a graduate of Brewer High School, class of 1945. Elaine worked in the Bangor-Brewer area and later in Washington, D.C. She returned home and married John, and they raised six wonderful children who were the joy of her life. Surviving are her children, James Graham and his wife, Jennifer, of Boynton Beach, FL.; Thomas Graham and his wife, Cheryl, of Boynton Beach, FL.; Peter Graham and his wife, Lisa, of Merrimack, N.H.; Donald Graham and his wife, Christine, of Bow, N.H.; Clarissa Trasko and her husband, Frederick, of Bucksport; and Kathleen Benedict of Old Orchard Beach; 11 grandchildren, Jackson and Emily Graham; Samantha Graham; Allison (Graham) Garvin and Kelly Graham; John R. and Chase Graham; Jordan and Kaylie Trasko; Christopher and Brooke Benedict; her sister and best friend, Patricia Bartlett, of Gulf Stream, FL.; her beloved brother, Robert Gibbons and his wife, Starr, of Surry; devoted nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Joan Pooler, and her family. She was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor LeTourneau. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to Marilyn Michaud, FNP, who provided mom with compassionate and loving medical care for many years. Also, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the special and caring staff of St. Joseph’s Homecare and Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday , May 31, 2018, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, York St., Bangor. The Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
