Agatha D. Sigley, 89, died at her home, Waterford Assisted Living in Virginia Beach, Va. on Saturday, June 2, 2018. She moved to Va. in 2014 to be near her only child, Connie Sigley.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Howard Sigley and her mother, Alma Ottenberg.

In addition to her daughter Connie Sigley, she is survived by her sister, Sandra Stern of Aliquippa, Pa.

Agatha was raised in Webster County, WV, by her grandparents, Homer and Beatrice Morton. She graduated from Cowan High School in 1946 and Union Protestant Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She retired in 1994 as the Nursing Director and Home Health Administrator from Harrison-Clarksburg Health Dept. after 37 years of service. She was proud of her work to bring skilled home nursing care to the community with one of the first certified Medicare agencies in the state. She was active in the WV Nurses Association advocating for better working conditions for nurses. She was active in many organizations and boards. Agatha was a member of the United Methodist Temple Church.

Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV, on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 6 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 10am with Pastor Dustin McCune presiding. Interment will follow at the Trinity Cemetery.
