Mr. Carol Anthony Weller, beloved son of Joel and Violet Weller, was born on May 19, 1956 in the District of Pepper, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies. He was educated at Pepper All- Age School in St. Elizabeth. After graduating, Weller migrated to Kingston where he joined the Jamaica Constabulary Force and was stationed at the Elletson Road Police Headquarters where he quickly climbed the ranks and became a corporal. In October, 1991 he resigned after 18 years of dedicated service and migrated to the United States to join his wife, Wanita Weller.
Carol, known to many as Bim, Corporal, Skipper or Weller, was a man of integrity and always reminded us to look at the positive side of things. He found joy in providing for his family, and engaging in conversation with family, friends and strangers on various topics such as God, family, politics and Jamaica’s current events.. His love of cars was legendary amongst family and friends. His commitment to his entire family and friends was endless and he was there if one ever needed him for anything. Whether you were family, friend or a stranger, you could depend on Weller and he would never disappoint. To many, Weller was a teacher, a father, an advisor and counselor. His guidance and advice was always sound and provided positive yielding results. Weller was a man of his word whose life exemplified honesty, integrity and principle. His character was extremely important to him and he would not compromise that for anyone.
Weller was extremely disciplined in every aspect of his life. There were no shortcuts and everything had to be done in order and by the books. The decisions he made were always well planned and thought-out and nothing was done in haste. He chose to be a part of the solution and never the problem.
For the past 25 years, Weller was employed as a Certified Central Processing Technician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. During his years of service, he left an imprint on those he met and created life-long bonds through friendships, teaching and counseling. To those who encountered him, knowing him was an honor. Weller was dedicated to his job and received numerous awards and certifications throughout the years, recently receiving an award for his years of dedicated service to the organization.
In all of his endeavors, Weller’s life demonstrated acts of being Christ-like. He lived his life based on truth, love, hard work following God’s Word and God’s Promise for his life. On April 24, 2018, Weller was baptized displaying an act of obedience symbolizing his faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. He was extremely excited about becoming a member of Morning Star Baptist Church but more importantly a member of God’s army. Weller was now free of past sins; he was unchained from bondage of his old life including cancer, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead and God’s promise to deliver him.
Weller is survived by his devoted wife Wanita Weller and four children: Keisha Weller-Smith [Orlando, FL], Carlos Weller [Uniondale, NY], Renee Gordon-Weller and Orlando Weller [Boston, MA]; four grandchildren: Matthew Smith, Desiree Smith, Ashley Smith [Orlando, FL] and Kaleb Weller [South Boston, MA], and six brothers and sisters: Eroy Thomas [Bronx, NY], Earl Salomon and Collin Salomon [St. Elizabeth, JA], and Jazzette Thomas [Kingston, JA] Lena Rose Gray [Toronto, Canada], and Natoline Weller [St. Elizabeth, JA] many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his loving “adopted” parents Clementina and Norman Clachar and four brothers, Anthony Clachar Sr., Loyil Clachar, Norman Clachar Jr. and Joshua Clachar Sr. (Boston, MA].
Carol is preceded in death by his loving parents, Joel Weller and Violet Weller, and his sister, Rhona Weller.
There will be a Viewing on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00am followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 O’clock at Morning Star Baptist Church, 1257 Blue Hill Ave., Mattapan, MA 02126.
