Obituary for Corey Ramsay

Deacon Corey Ramsay entered into eternal peace on Sunday, May 20, 2018 after a long battle with cancer at the Grosvenor Park Health Center in Swampscott, MA.

Corey Lashaun Ramsay was born on July 5, 1981to Mrs. Marcia Ramsay-Murray and Mr. Ainsley Philiberth (deceased). He was the beloved husband of Lisa Ramsay and the loving devoted father to Caleb Micah Ramsay. He was always so proud and very excited to see his son Caleb who is 9 months old reach new milestones.

Corey was raised and educated in Boston and Lynn, MA. He graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1999. Corey went on to attend Salem State University where he was chemistry major. His dream was to become a Pharmacist. Corey was employed at CVS Pharmacy for several years and most recently at Eaton Apothecary as a Pharmacy Technician.

Brother Corey Ramsay was married on August 8, 2016 to Sister Lisa Lambert. From the union they had a son, Caleb Micah Ramsay on August 8, 2017.

Corey embraced his Jamaican heritage with other cultures especially the Latino culture. He spoke Spanish language fluently and he was a food enthusiast. Corey enjoyed dancing to all genres of music especially Reggae, Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata. He also loved to travel and he enjoyed barbecues with family and friends and others social events. Corey loved his family and he actively supported his nieces, nephews, and friends as they participated in various sports.

Brother Corey was baptized in Jesus Name at the Greater Bethlehem Temple Pentecostal Church, on September 14, 2008, and he received the gift of the Holy Ghost on October 1, 2008. Brother Corey was committed to being in church, he was active member of the Outreach Ministry, Youth Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Choir and Usher Board Member. On May 6, 2017, Brother Corey was appointed as a deacon of the Greater Bethlehem Temple Pentecostal Church.

Deacon Corey is survived by his mother Marcia Ramsay-Murray and his stepfather Steven Murray, wife: Lisa Ramsay, his son Caleb Micah Ramsay, sister Hyishma Ramsay and Tiany Philibert, brothers Richard Ramsay, Rashaun Ramsay and his wife Neverrah Ramsay, Brandon Ramsay, Steven Murray Jr., Khiry Murray, Julian Murray, Ainsley Philibert Jr. and Tambobwe (Thomas) Moore, his grandparents Jean Ramsay, Daphne and Reuben Philibert and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Corey’s loving heart and bright smile will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

There will be a Viewing on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00am followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 O’clock at Greater Bethlehem Temple Pentecostal Church 21 Light Street, Lynn, MA 01905

Interment: Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, MA
