Obituary for Catina N Priest (Hatzikosta)

Mrs. Catina (Hatzikostas) Priest, age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Stockton, California. Catina was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is preceded by her husband Nicholas Leonidas Priest who passed away on October 23, 1980 and by her son Dr. Leonidas Nicholas Priest M.D. who passed away on January 10, 2011. She is survived by her daughter Elefteria Vlahos and grandson Nicholas Vlahos who currently reside in Samos, Greece and by her loving granddaughter Kalliope Vlahos who lives in Texas and whom faithfully and lovingly served as Catina’s guardian over recent years.

Catina was born February 2, 1922 in a small village known as Agios Konstantinos on the island of Samos, Greece. She married and immigrated to the U.S. settling in Daly City, California where she lived most of her life while proudly raising her children and caring for her grandchildren. Catina was an active member of the Greek Orthodox Community of San Francisco and is fondly remembered by many in the Bay Area as well as members from the Stockton community where she eventually moved and spent her remaining years.

Funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Friday September 28, 2018 at the St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church located at 920 W March Lane, Stockton, CA 95207. Immediately following, a burial service will take place at the Park View Cemetery located at 3661 French Camp Road in Manteca, CA.
