Obituary for Carol Ann Powers (Ward)

Carol Ann Powers, 74, of Piedmont, MO passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at her residence. She was born June 24, 1943 in Knox City, TX, to parents Robert V. and Lillian Marie (Dickey) Ward.

Carol was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Although very independent and feisty, she was a good Christian woman. She enjoyed helping others and being with her family. She loved being outdoors, watching the birds, and putting puzzles together. Carol was fortunate to travel and live in different areas of the United States. She was raised in Texas until she ventured out on her own moving to Arizona where she met her husband of thirty-eight years, Ernest Levi Powers. She has also lived in Colorado, and Michigan until she finally settled in Piedmont, MO. Carol will be missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband and one brother Bill Ward.

She is survived by her children: Kris Lorentz of Piedmont, MO, Genia Francis of Park Hills, MO; grandchildren: Mandi Johnson and husband Neal, Megan Loughin, Ashley Loughin, Richard Loughin, and seven great-grandchildren: step-children: John Powers of Park Hills, MO, Chris Powers of Phoenix, AZ, Kent Powers of Phoenix, AZ; brother Robert Ward of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
