Condolences

Condolence From: Anne Whentringhame
Condolence: I was so sad to hear, at Christmas, from a mutual friend that Joe had passed away. I knew Joe, only briefly, from his time in Germany in 1990 when he was serving with the 112th. He was a kind, generous, lovely, funny, genuine man. Although I live in England I did meet up with him once more when I visited Maine in 2000 during a tour of New England. We continued to exchange Christmas cards until a couple of years ago. My deepest condolences to his wife & family. With love Anne xx

Condolence: First met Joe back in 92 at the Bangor Wal-Mart. He was always quick with a laugh or a joke, that's what stuck with me about him all these years later. I'm glad to know he's pain-free now, and I know he's left his family strong enough to get through this. Thoughts and prayers are with Joe's wife and family. God bless..

Condolence: Wanted to extend my condolences Cindy & family. Joe had a great heart & the natural talent to treat everyone, instantly, as a old friend. Or at least, that is how he make me feel & everyone I saw him talk with at CW events. I am glad to have known him a little.

Condolence: Well Joe, the last time we spoke you talked about sitting at the right hand of our heavenly father up there. Let's hope you got a good seat not too far from the bathroom just like you were hoping for. Take care and say hello to the relatives for me

Condolence: Dear Mrs. Butera, Cindy, Larry and family I was saddened to read about Joe's passing in the BDN. I got to know Joe and his brother Larry when we served together as altar boys at St. Joseph's Church in Brewer more than 40 years ago. I remember Joe as a funny, kind-hearted and generous guy who loved his family, parish and community. We enjoyed working together "behind the scenes" as servers for Fr. Harvey. With Joe and Larry around, there was a always good camaraderie and a joke to share. I am grateful to Joe for his years of service to our country. Rest in peace, Joe. To Joe's wife, mother, daughter, brother Larry and the entire Butera family, please accept my heartfelt condolences. David
