Agnes Edna Graves, 74, born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on May 20, 1944, one of ten children to the late John and Pearl (McCrea) Lynas. She passed away on Sunday June 24, 2018 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Edna came to the United States in the early 1960’s as a nanny to a family in Greenwich. And in due time, married and began a family of her own in town. Although she only had three sons of her own, countless others called her Mom, as the door to her home was always open and offered a safe haven. She was a steadfast friend, and she will be sorely missed.
Edna was predeceased by two sons, Stephen Graves and Jay Graves. She is survived by her beloved soulmate of over twenty years, Anton Klotz, her son Brian Graves and wife Karen Dirgins-Graves, daughters-in-law Peggy Graves and Joanne Graves, and grand-daughters Angel Graves and Jolie Graves.
Her family would like to thank the wonderful oncology doctors and staff of Greenwich Hospital, and the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne at the hospice at Rosary Hill Home, for their tireless dedication.
Arrangements were made through Castiglione’s Funeral Home, and at Edna’s request, there will be no calling hours. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Rosary Hill Home, 600 Linda Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532.
