Obituary for Joseph R Powell


Joseph R. Powell, age 86 of Croydon, passed away Monday June 25, 2018. Born in Phila. Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a master plumber with Local #690, Phila., for 66 years. Joe was a graduate of Northeast High School, Class of 1950 and Temple University Class of 1959. He enjoyed being with his family, classical music and history. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Powell (nee Nuskey) and father of the late Joseph and Patrick Powell. He will be dearly missed by his children; Michael (Jackie), Barbara Pryor (Gene), Sean (Debbie), Timothy (Mary), Christopher (Jacqueline), Richard (Sheryl), Maureen Moyer (Ted), Terrence (Lori) and Kathleen Powell (Bob). Also survived by 28 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday eve from 7 to 9 pm at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020. His funeral Mass will be Friday 10:00 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church 601 Bristol Pike, Croydon, PA 19021, where friends may also call from 9:00 am until the time of Mass. Rite of committal will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church at the above address.
