Obituary for William ""Bill"" Bug

William H. “Bill” Bug was born March 29, 1926 in Belleville, IL and died June 22, 2018, in Billings, MT.

Bill graduated from Belleville Township High School in 1944. While in school he was on the basketball and football teams, President of the Senior Class, and an Eagle Scout. After graduation, he was drafted into the Army and served with the 24th Signal Corp. in the Philippines and as a member of the Arm of Occupation of Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1946.

He was employed by Gates Rubber Company in Denver, CO after graduating with an engineering degree from Colorado State University. While at Gates, he met and married Geraldine Williams of Denver on August 17, 1952. They were happily married for 55 years and had 4 wonderful children.

In 1970 he moved to Billings, MT to become a partner in Big Horn Corporation. He especially cherished his family and enjoyed all the picnics in the mountains, vacation trips, and time spent together, especially breakfast over a campfire in the mountains.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine, son William E., and sister Jane Knous. Surviving are his daughters Susan (Russ) Plath, Mary (Glen Smith) Bug-Smith, and Leah (Kurt Johnson) Bug; Granddaughters Mellissa (Vesa) Plath and Sarah Plath; Grandsons Bryan (Kari) Bug-Wiltse and Rob Plath; four great grandchildren, and beloved sister Ruth Grandcolas.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, June 30th at 11:00 am at King of Glory Lutheran Church located at 4125 Grand Avenue, Billings, MT 59102.
