She will be laid to rest at Carney Cemetery.
Virl Jean Allen was born on August 4, 1934 to Leonard Grover and Bessie Elsie (Hagar) Westfall, in Friona, TX. She passed away on July 6, 2018 in Edmond, OK. Virl attended Tryon Public Schools as a child and continued through her Senior year. On July 11, 1954, she married John D. Allen and together they made a life and raised a family in Oklahoma City, OK. During Virl’s working years, she worked for SW Bell Telephone as an operator and she also served as an administrative assistant for Knob Hill Baptist Church, for 5 years and Western Heights Public School System, for 20 years. She was a woman of faith and she loved her family, friends, OSU athletics and Thunder Basketball. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Vivian Westfall and June Kirkpatrick; and infant brother David Ricky Westfall. Virl leaves behind her children, Gary Allen and wife, Judy and Brenda Allen of Tryon, OK; grandchildren, Garrett Allen and wife, Shelby of Sweeny, TX, Garrison Allen, Taylor Allen and Gage Allen of Tryon, OK; brothers, L.D. (Dan) Westfall and wife, Edna of Perkins, OK, G. Don Westfall and wife, Theresa of Nellysford, VA and Herschel Westfall and wife, Carla of Tryon, OK; Sister, Donna Stallard of Stillwater, OK; as well as many other family and friends including numerous nieces and nephews.
