Obituary for Troy Smitherman (Ritter)

Graveside service for Troy Ritter Smitherman, 77, of Covington will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Blum Cemetery in Hill County. The Reverend Sam Houston will officiate. Pallbearers will be Austin Carnes, Sierra Allen, Jake Smitherman, Lynnsey Bonner, Dempsey Bonner, and Marshal Couldron. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Troy Ritter Smitherman passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Fort Worth. She was born October 20, 1940 in Jacksonville, TX to Alton Winfield and Minnie Lucille Isaacks Ritter. She married her sweetheart, Billy J. Smitherman on December 29, 1956 in Arlington. Billy preceded her in death on July 3, 2006, after 49 years of marriage.
Mrs. Smitherman was a home health caregiver until retiring. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Smitherman of Covington; sons, Jerry Smitherman, Joe Smitherman, Jimmy Smitherman, and Jason Smitherman, all of Covington; grandchildren, Koby, Lynnsey, Dillion, Austin, Sierra, Jake, Kylie, Destynee, Marshal, Lexi, Justin, Destinee, and Talia; great grandchild, Everette; sisters, Barbara Duke and husband Roy of Burleson and Betty Johnson of Cleburne; and additional family, Larissa, Kaycee, Michelle, Dempsey and Desery. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Lucille Ritter; son, Bill Lee Smitherman; and sister, Minnie Dale Ritter.
