Service for Charlotte Beatrice Tusken, 93, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Elder Larry Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in Keene Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Finch, Mike Griswell, Matt Griswell, Dennis Haslam, Chris Tusken, and Rhett Tusken.
Charlotte Beatrice Tusken, born in 1925, was the youngest of 6 children born and raised in Stanley, Wisconsin. From her youth Charlotte was warm, friendly, and lots of fun. She played the piano beautifully and was a natural artist and poet, but her greatest gifts were that of love and laughter. She met Robert, a handsome young Air Force officer, after he proclaimed, upon first sight, that she was the woman he was going to marry. Marry they did and soon filled their home with the giggles of three children, Lana, Lynn, and Rhett. Charlotte was an amazing mother and wife. She made the mundane a game. Milk and cookies became a party. Moving was an “adventure.” Daily life was filled with songs, many of them invented on the spot. Life with Charlotte was beautiful. Joyful. She touched all those around her with her warmth and compassion. Her mottos were:

God first and then family.
There are takers and givers; be a giver.
You don’t have to be perfect, but try to be the best you you can be.

Charlotte loved her husband, her family, and most importantly God. She lived her religion by volunteering at the Welfare Center, visiting precious people at the nursing home, housing college students, giving bible studies, and of course entertaining her beautiful family. Her always open home was a constant ministry and her Chow Mein and chocolate cake with raspberry filling were an outreach of heavenly proportion.

Charlotte died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 8. We will miss her quick wit, her ability to make anything and everything fun, her unfailing belief in the good in people, her open arms, her beautiful smile, and her wink which persisted even when words failed.
Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, thank you for loving us well and for loving God well. Your legacy lives on in us. We will love and miss you always.
