THOMPSON, Ian (March 22, 1940)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ian Thompson, on August 28th, 2018. He passed peacefully on his farm in Oneida, surrounded by family in his 79th year. He was a wonderful husband to Kathleen (nee Smith) for 53 years. Dear father of Julia Clark (John), Daniel Thompson, and Andrea Thompson (Jeremy). Loving grandfather to Tyler, Jamie and Emily. He will be missed by his siblings Neville Thompson (Gail), Stephen Thompson (Diana) and Avril Farlam (Jason). Ian's career was in the steel industry at Dofasco, but his true passion was working on the farm and tinkering with many projects. He loved working with his hitch horses and going to endless auctions in his retirement. His strength and determination carried him through to the end. He will be greatly missed. A service will be held on Saturday, September 1st, at MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia at 2 pm, followed by a reception at the Caledonia Lions Club (100 Haddington St., Caledonia, attached to arena). Sincere appreciation is extended to all the healthcare professionals who supported Ian and his family throughout this journey.
