Emelda (Lacharite) Simard died September 3, 2018. She was born on April 21, 1925, the fourth of five children of the late Walter and Dorina (Beaudoin) Lacharite. Emelda attended St. Louis Convent in Winooski, followed by St. Mary's Academy in Burlington, VT.
On October 5, 1946, she married Roger J. Simard in St. Francis Xavier Church in Winooski. They had two children: Michael J. and Colette M., both of Grand Isle, VT. She was predeceased by her husband Roger on December 25, 1979, her brothers Wilfrid and Lucien and Julie (Bergeron) Lacharite, her sister Evelina & Raymond Avenia, as well as members of her late husband's family.
She is survived by her brother Roger J. Lacharite, S.S.E; her children Michael and Colette; Michael's wife Jeannette, two grandsons and three great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Vising hours will be Friday September 7th from 8:30am-9:30am at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main Street Winooski VT. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday September 7th at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Church in Winooski. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier cemetery.
