Condolence From: Linda Brown Schaffner
Condolence: I'm am so very saddened to hear of Uncle Harold's passing. I thought the world of him. A few weeks ago I was gathering photos and movie clips of the times my family took a vacation to Vallicito Lake in Colorado. The Barber siblings had a family reunion there in 1957. It rained so much we had to evacuate the area. Uncle Harold invited all of the clan to Alamogordo, N.M. where he and family lived to finish out the vacation. We all went to the White Sands. There was a movie clip of Uncle Harold dragging my Mom, Jo, down the sand dune by her heel. Mom always talked about his antics and how fun he was. He was a fellow Texas Tech Red Raider, too. Tim and I had the privilege of attending a Cotton Bowl game with him and Dortha. We played Alabama and lost! I'm glad I had the chance to get to know Uncle Harold and will miss him. My prayers and condolences go out to Aunt Dortha and family for their loss.

Condolence: My sympathies to the family! I adored Uncle Harold! I always thought he was so cool! His stories of secretly building fighter airplanes etc were incredibly interesting! My mom always told me he was a rocket scientist which impressed me so very much! I’ve told my children the stories I remember about him! I was proud to have him as my uncle! I used to catch horny toads and mail them to him because people in California had never seen them! I would love to come see y’all at the funeral, but I’m dealing with brain cancer and don’t get around very well!! Sending love and hugs!! Jeanette Barnett Dragisic
