February 27, 1927 ~ September 8, 2018
Peacefully and surrounded by the love of her family, it is with great sadness and with many cherished memories that we announce the passing of our mom, gram, and great gram on Saturday, September 8, 2018, in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband James McAlpine Harrison (August 2000) of 54 years. Evelyn and Jim were long time dairy farmers in Haldimand County (Caledonia). Beloved mother of Richard, Barbara Wilson (Doug) and Margaret (deceased November 2001). Dear sister of Elenore Wills of Grimsby. Remembered by Becky Harrison, Larry Fay, and Elgin Houison. Evelyn had much love and pride for her grandchildren and will be fondly remembered by them: Tara Houison-Walker (Kyle), Dan Houison (Shona), Heather Fay-Vowles (Jamie), Kelli Fay-Stanfield (Clint) and Arlana Harrison (Rich Adams). She loved and cherished her 10 great-grandchildren, Maren and Reese Walker, Ben Kroeker, Tyler, Nathan, Madison and Brieanna Vowles, Cole Stanfield and Broxton and Baylen Adams. Also survived by her nieces and nephews. Evelyn’s greatest joy was time spent with her family, and she played a meaningful role in all of our lives. An important and unforgettable link in our family is gone from us, and we will miss her presence immensely. We are grateful for the life lessons and love she has left with us, and they will be passed on for generations to come. A private family service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Caledonia. Interment will follow at Caledonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Caledonia or the Caledonia Agricultural Society.
