Obituary for Johnny Lee Ebbs

Johnny Lee Ebbs, 77, went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer and COPD.

Johnny was a lifelong resident of New Mexico, including Las Cruces, Timberon, and Tularosa. He graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1959.

Johnny began his career in home appliance repair at Economy TV and Appliance in the 1950s. He eventually started his own business, Home Appliance Repair, in 1986 with his wife, Janet. He served 3 generations of customers in the Las Cruces and Dona Ana County areas. His community service also included 16 years in the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Auxiliary, volunteering his time and service to the Timberon Fire Department, and the Timberon Water and Sewer Board.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janet L. Ebbs.Their children include Genny Pringle (George) of Reno, NV, Leigh Ann Barboa (Rodney) of Tucson, AZ, John Dee of Chaparral, NM, Tracie Ebbs of Las Cruces, Cindy Talley (Gary) of Oakhurst, CA, Robin Flores (Toby) of Las Cruces, Cynthia Krebs of Cortez, CO, and Zach Ebbs of Tularosa, NM; he is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Curly and Laura Ebbs, his brothers, Forrest and Frank Ebbs, grandson, Joe Pringle, son, Tim Krebs, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Erika Ebbs.

Services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Ave. in Las Cruces, NM. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Elks Lodge, 3000 Elks Drive in Las Cruces.

Serving as pallbearers will be Toby Flores, Austin Flores, George Pringle, John Forrest Ebbs, Buddy Wyne, and Wyne Suggs.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Mesilla Valley Hospice.
