Donald William King, age 90, of the Brainerd Lakes Area, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 at his home in Baxter surrounded by loved ones. Don was born on May 21, 1928 in Nisswa, to Robert & Myrtle (Curtis) King. Don served his country in the US Air Force and worked as a truck driver. He married Donna Jean Judith Dahl on December 1, 1951. Don’s favorite past times were watching the Minnesota Twins, fishing, hunting, playing cards, cribbage, pinochle, and spending time with family & friends.
Don is survived by his daughters: Carolyn (Wayne) Hanson of Brainerd, Karen (Ron) Lepinski of Sebeka, and Connie (Paul) Randolph of Coon Rapids; siblings: Elsie Pickar of Menahga and Joyce Smith of Gillette, WY; grandchildren: Lisa (Bill) Britton, Nikki (Steve) Day, Kayla (Aaron) Frame, Chris (DeeDee) Goral, Jeannie (Chris) Arthur, and Katie Goral; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna Jean; siblings: Alice, Milton, Lois, Claude, Bob, Sadie, Pat, Dwight and Wanda.
A memorial service celebrating Don’s life will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 2PM at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home-BAXTER CHAPEL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
