Christie, Eileen [nee Pyle]
Peacefully on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the age of 95. Wife to the late Bill, mother of Cally [the late Don] and Nancy [Rob]. Nana to Karie and Christy. Eileen was the daughter of Bernie and Jessie Pyle, sister to June, aunt to Harold, Lynda [Clark} and Debbie [Howard].
Eileen was an active, committed Christian. She provided lay leadership at Islington United Church, Etobicoke. As well, she volunteered for many health-related agencies including the Arthritis Society. Mom received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for the establishment of the Widow’s Support Group in Etobicoke. She also hosted a speaker series on mental health.
A sincere thanks to Dufferin Oaks for their care and compassion.
A celebration of life will be held at Islington United Church, 25 Burnhamthorpe Road, Etobicoke on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 at 1p.m. Please donate to the Arthritis Society or World Vision.
