Obituary for June Helen Baesen (Shoemaker)

June Helen (Shoemaker) Baesen, 90 of Rotterdam passed away on Thursday September 20, 2018 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Schaghticoke, NY, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen (Wheeler) Shoemaker.

Her world revolved around her family. June also loved food, whether owning a deli, working in a supermarket or a college food service, or preparing meals for her family. She had a strong work ethic and was employed by the Champlain Spinners Silk Mill, McClanes Deli, GE, the Golub Corporation and Schenectady County Community College.

June was predeceased by her husband Rudolph Baesen, her son Chris Gonyeau, her three brothers Kenneth Shoemaker, Albert Casey and Edward Casey as well as her two sisters Marion Casey and Mildred Fox.

She is survived by her three loving children Richard Gonyeau of Rotterdam, Thom Gonyeau (Lacey) of Atlanta, GA and Terri Sutton (Robert) of Schenectady. June is also survived by two loving step children Alan Baesen of Norfolk, VA and Ross Baesen (Sharon) of Lake Luzerne. She is also survived by several loving grandchildren, several loving great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for June will be Wednesday September 26, 2018 at 12 noon at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4-7PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Memory Gardens in Colonie.
