Mary Margaret (Lynch) Snyder, the daughter of Wallace and Mary Ellen (Evans) Lynch, was born November 2, 1924, in Estherville, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, at the age of 93.
She received her education in the Estherville schools.
In June of 1947, Mary was united in marriage to William "Bill" Snyder at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville. The couple made their home in rural Estherville where they began raising their family and farmed. In addition to being a mom, wife and helping on the farm, Mary was employed outside the home at Butterfield Produce, Land O' Lakes in Estherville and also the candy factory in Jackson, Minnesota. Later she was employed at Good Samaritan Home in Estherville in the Dietary Department until her retirement. Bill died in March of 1978. In her leisure time Mary enjoyed coloring and games, especially Rummikub. The last few years she made her home at Windsor Manor in Estherville where she was able to maintain her independence. Mary's greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family.
Mary was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville and also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Left to cherish Mary's memory are her children, Debbie (Jon) Love of Palestine, Texas; Dave (Sue) Snyder of Estherville; Dick (Darlene) Snyder of Custer, South Dakota; Dale (Chris) Snyder of Estherville; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She has been preceded in death by her husband, Bill; an infant daughter; parents and sister, Lauretta Welp.
