Barry W Ferich was born in Lancaster Pennsylvania to Nora and John Ferich on July 30, 1938. He grew up in the small town of Willow Street where he excelled in many sports.  Physical Education was his major at West Chester State where he met Brenda Appelgren the mother of his two children, Barry, Jr. and Sharon.  Upon graduation Barry was commissioned a second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and the adventures began. He was a Vietnam veteran, recipient of the Bronze Star and numerous commendations.  In 1980, Barry met Rachael De Vico, who would become his second wife, and commenced his second career as a beloved educator with the La Mesa/Spring Valley School District.  Anyone lucky enough to have known him will remember him for his humility, generosity, good will, and (not least) wit.
