Obituary for Maurice Donald "Babe" Potvin

Maurice "Babe" Potvin, 90 years old, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Orvilla, son David (Lynn) Gray, daughters Kathleen Lumbert and Susan (Gilbert) Cancio; sisters-in-laws Darlene Whisler & Julie Arenstein; 6 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was pre-deceased by parents Isaac and Edna Potvin, and son Francis D. Potvin, brothers Francis and Clement and sister-in-law Theresa Potvin.

After his stint in the Army during World War II, he graduated from St. Michael's in 1951 and worked in the aircraft industry, retiring from Hughes Aircraft. He was Commander of the VFW in Winooski; Served on City Council & as Vice Mayor of Winooski. After a long career in California and Arizona, he was overjoyed to return to his boyhood home of Winooski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018 at 11:00 am with internment afterwards at St Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.
