Robert F. “B. J.” Gratton, III, age 39, a resident of Morse Road in Bennington, died on Monday, October 1, 2018, at his home.

He was born in Bennington on October 28, 1978, and was the son of the late Robert Gratton, Jr. and Deborah Willette who survives. He received his education in Bennington schools, and is a graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School. B. J. enjoyed riding his bicycle, camping, fishing and hiking, but his very special time, was the time spent with his family, especially the nieces and nephews. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his daughter Alexis Haskins, his brother Christopher (Sara Granger) of Bennington, and his sister Rachael (Michael Adams) of White Creek, New York. He leaves his nieces and nephews: Curtis Gratton, Zoey Gratton, Tasha Gratton, Zach Tobin, and Laura Tobin. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Beverly Willette of Bennington, VT and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Robert Jr, his paternal grandparents; Robert, Sr. and Ruth Gratton, and his maternal grandfather, Norman Willette, Sr.

A time of fellowship will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 11 AM until 8 PM at the North Bennington Fire House. The are no calling hours scheduled. Contributions may be made to the family through the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
