Howard Dwight Sherfey, 88 of Algood, Tennessee passed from this life on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Howard was born Tuesday, March 11, 1930 in Kingsport, Virginia to the late John Henry and Josie (Coffee) Sherfey.

Howard was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His favorite sports were bowling and golfing.

Howard is survived by:

Wife: Georiga Ann (Lewis) Sherfey

5 Children: Ida Kathy Luke, Elsie Eileen Vercher, Howard Allen Sherfey, Jean Thompson and Karen Stire

3 Step-Children: Jack Gardner, Pennie and Johnny Dyer and Sheila Hammock.

24 Grandchildren

Numerous Great Grandchildren

Special Great-Granddaughter: Olivia Kelley

2 Brothers: Ray and Charles Sherfey

Sister: Willie Morris

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by: Daughter, Mary Ann Westeman; Stepson, Randy Gardner; Stepdaughter, Betty Gardner; Sisters, Elise, Birdy, and Sue and Brothers, Jim and John.

Howard chose cremation and the family followed his wishes and a Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.
