Tyler Lane Ross, age 18, of Blue Springs, passed away on October 5th, 2018 after a battle with pneumonia. A visitation will be held from 9-11am on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A service will follow at 11am. He will then be laid to rest alongside his sister, Natalie, at Mount Olivet.

Tyler was born TaQuan Tyree MarTay Ray, on January 16, 2000 to Talisa (Ray) Wingo. He joined his forever family at three months of age in April of 2000, and was adopted by his parents, Randall W. Ross (Randy) and Loretta A. Ross (Lori) before his second birthday. Tyler joined a large and loving family, where he was smothered with affection by 27 brothers and sisters all of his life.

Tyler attended school at Liggett Trail Education Center until his health became too fragile, then was taught at home by his devoted teacher, Jody Patrick. Tyler has received excellent nursing care for most of his life, from a variety of nurses who became part of the family including Lori W., Kristen L., Angela D., Megan S., Barbara H., and lastly Sharon E, whose presence during this final illness brought incredible comfort to Tyler and all of us. Tyler has also been so blessed to receive the most incredible personal care from his Pediatrician, Cindy Kirby-Diaz, whose partnership throughout his life gave him a far longer and better life than would have otherwise been possible.

Our Angel Boy, joins his big sister Natalie, and his grandparents, Richard and Naomi Ross, in Heaven where he now runs free, sings and shouts, and is telling all kinds of stories about his crazy family. He leaves to miss him terribly, his parents Randy and Lori Ross, his sisters and brothers: Robin (Michael), Vinnie, Liz (Brad), Kenneth (Sarah), Jessica (Mike), Victoria (Mike), Catina, Nathan (Chelsea), Nicholas, Monique, Emma, Damion, Keyonna, Nicole, Carly, Jacob, Jimmy, David, Hunter, Shianne, Matthew, Katie, Molly, Bria, Lauren, and Sophia, his grandparents Paula Duke and Tom (Kathy) Duke, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins. Tyler also leaves his birth mother, Talisa, and his brother Montrell, and sisters Deriannah and Takeysha.

Tyler’s entire life has been difficult, but he has shown us with his quiet calm presence what matters most in life. Without ever saying a word he’s changed all of us for the better. The hole he leaves in our lives is unfillable. It brings us comfort to imagine the reunion he’s having this week with his big sister and favorite roomie, Natalie.
