Peacefully, Monday, October 8, 2018 at Health Sciences North with loving family at his side.
Beloved husband of Giuseppina Piconeri (Del Mastro) married on October 18, 1969. Loving father of Anna Tate, Carmelo Piconeri, and Anthony Piconeri predeceased June 15, 1993. Cherished grandfather of Brittany Tate, Tyler Tate and Valentina Piconeri. Loving son of Carmelo and Anna (nee Rocca) Piconeri. Dear brother of Silva Bumbaca (Rocco predeceased), Rita Malafarina (Domenico predeceased), Ubaldo Piconeri of Sudbury, Savino Piconeri predeceased, Gino Piconeri (Catarina) of Italy, and Constantino Piconeri predeceased (Antonietta of Italy). Special brother-in-law of Mary and Allan Holm, Giuliona Del Mastro, Rose and Dave Theobald, Lucy and Peter, Orazio Del Mastro of Sudbury and Pat and June Del Mastro of Ottawa. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Silvestro originally worked for Premier Petrenas, (Poor Pete) and the city of Sudbury. He came to Sudbury in 1954 from Calabria, Italy. Silvestro owned and operated his own business, Piconeri Contractors Limited for over 50 years. He will be remembered for his inspired work ethic and devotion to his loving family.
