McKenzie, Scott David "Beach" of Deephaven, passed away with family by his side on Oct. 2, 2018, at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by beloved wife of 48 years Judy (2017), cherished parents Jack and Marie McKenzie, and niece Jackie McKenzie. Survived by daughter Dawn (Bill) Ogle, son David (Kristin) McKenzie, grandkids Hailey and Addison Ogle, and Jack, Tessa and Maya McKenzie, sister Pat Schmitz, brother Mark "Lunch" McKenzie, and many loving relatives and friends. Papa was tirelessly devoted to his grandkids and kids and is deeply missed by them. Fiercely loyal, endearing, selfless and steadfast, Beach also was a longtime Minnetonka youth sports coach heavily involved at Bennett Family Park; hard-working block-layer and local business owner; creative problem solver; lifelong fantasy footballer; believer in the binding contract of a handshake; and lover of Harley-riding, 60's music, duct tape and fulfilling promises. His life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. noon at St. Therese Catholic Church, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd., Deephaven (952-473-4422). Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the mass at the church on Saturday. Celebration of life reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
