Life Story for Betty Lou Kunkel

Betty Lou Kunkel died peacefully surrounded by family on October 9, 2018 from cancer. Betty was born
on June 30,1939 in Billings, Montana to Louis & Elizabeth Anest. As a teenager, Betty was a twirler and a
poet for her school paper in Laurel, Mt. Betty married Jerry Kunkel from Billings on April 11, 1959. They
had 3 children, Rick Kunkel, Mike Kunkel and Kari (Gary) Goodale. She enjoyed being a homemaker and
always being available for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty loved baking,
playing cards, gardening and the fellowship she had with her bible study group. Betty is survived by her
3 children, as well as her sister, Jeanette Horsman, brothers Pete and Paul Anest. Grandchildren
-Nicole(David), Jesse(Jennifer), Zack(Brenda), Cory(Rose), Jake, Gabe, Kasey(Kaitlynn), Kassidy, Brin, and
Kloe. Great grandchildren Kaden, Taytum, Haley, Grayson, Diesel, Kyra, Skylar, and Remmington. Betty
was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Elizabeth Anest, her husband Jerry Kunkel, and brother
Bill Anest. Special thanks to her friend Joel, and the team at Hospice & Palliative Care Compassus.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Monday, October 15 at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St W. Visitation begins one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Terrace Gardens Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.smithfuneralchapels.com.
