Obituary for Edith Marjorie Niven

Edith Marjorie Niven
May 2, 1920 – Nov 3, 2018

Our little fighter until the end has passed on to join her beloved husband of 72 years, Bob.

She will be so dearly missed by her loving sons Robert (and Marg) and Geoffrey (and Jackie). Grandchildren Lindsay (and Brandon), Andrew (and Tianna), and Laurel. And very loved great grandchildren Anderson, Benjamin, and Edith. Very caring aunt to her nieces and nephews, always very close with Marjorie Rice. Predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Katie, and sisters Girlie and Evelyn, who she always missed.

Her stunning artistry earned her a scholarship to attend a private art school in Scarborough, England. She gave up her studies to join the war effort, choosing the WAAF with her sister, where she met the love of her life. After bravely moving to Canada to start her family, she volunteered her time to: St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Tumpane Street Public School, and the TB Sanitarium in Weston.

Our heartfelt thanks to the team at Wentworth Heights for the great and loving care for both of our parents, and being able to keep them together as well as the incredible nursing team at the Juravinski Hospital.

Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Weston Chapel” (2035 Weston Road, Weston) on Monday November 12th, 2018 from 12noon until the time of service in the chapel at 1pm.

For those who wish, memorial donations to Camp BUCKO would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
