Mrs. Beatrice Goldwire, 91 years old, passed away peacefully at her home in North Brunswick, NJ on Wednesday November 14, 2018. Beatrice (Ma, Bea, Aunt Bea, Grams, Nana) was born July 24, 1927 in Walterboro, South Carolina to John Bowman and Luetta (Danner) Bowan.

She was one of 10 children. She was preceded in death by: Willie "Big Jr." Bowman, Palmer Bowman, Jackie Marshal Bowman, John Bowman, Birdie Rhodes, her two older beloved sisters Mamelou "Mamie" Bowman, Elizabeth (Bowman) Searles. Beatrice is survived by her beloved brothers: William Bowman (Emma) Walterboro, SC and Joseph Amos Bowman (Mary) Columbia, SC.

Beatrice was married Willie Owens Goldwire. She lost her beloved husband on April 1, 1980. Their union produced two children a daughter who passed as an infant and her beloved son Willie O. Goldwire, Jr. Beatrice is survived by her dear son Willie O. Goldwire, Jr. (Wilhelmina) Somerset, NJ, Her grandchildren: Josette Johnson (Mark), Willie Goldwire III, Isan Goldwire (Itssia), Abdul Goldwire (Ivette), Solomon Roberts Goldwire (Nicole), Chelsea Goldwire and Jonathan Goldwire. Fifteen (15) great-grandchildren, one (1) great-great grandchild. She was instrumental in the raising of her niece whom she loved who passed this year Barbara Newton.

Beatrice was an excellent seamstress known to make all types of clothing, curtains and so much more. She was a licenced beautician in Brooklyn, NY and when the family moved to Manhattan, NY she worked for Columbia University - Teachers College for many years as Head of their housekeeping until she retired. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #396 which bore the name of her deceased sister Lady Searles. Beatrice professed her life to Christ and was a faithful woman and a bible reader. She was a member of The Church of the Meek where she was a Deaconess for many years. In addition to reading her bible she enjoy putting together elaborate puzzles, word search books, Jenga, all types of music, food and loved to sing and dance. She was smart, funny, wonderfully independent and dependable. She cherished anytime she spent with her family and adored her grands and great-grands. She was a quiet, classy and strong woman who respected others and ensured she received the same respect, her son nicknamed her "Boss Lady". She was a gentle 5'2 woman with a giant heart always ready to defend her family so no one bothered them or you had to deal with "Bea". She was loved dearly.

Beatrice (Ma, Grams, Nana, Aunt Bea, Sister Goldwire) was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin. She leaves to cherish all the beautiful memories: her son, daughter-in law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews a host of cousins and friends.
