Obituary for Daniel J. "Danny" Sheerin

Daniel “Danny” J. Sheerin of Scranton died Monday December 3, 2018 at home following a brief illness. His wife of 35 years is the former Patricia Anderson.
Born in Scranton he was the son of the late John and Margaret Greenwald Sheerin. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Class of 1973 he went on to work for McKinney MFG for 25 years and most recently was the proprietor of Bacwal’s Tavern in Scranton.
A talented musician from a young age, Danny was well known in Northeast PA and played bass in numerous local bands and was most recently with Se Acabo, a Santana tribute band. He was a member of the Waldorf German American Federation, and was a founding member of the Mountaineers Social Club. He was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving are four daughters, Melissa Woody and husband Jeremy, Scranton, Molly Lepri and husband Paolo, Dunmore, Maggie Lacoe and husband Steven, Archbald, and Mary Sheerin, Endicott, NY; brother John Sheerin and wife Susan, Peckville; grandchildren Emma, Anna, and Amelia Woody, Dominic and Nicholas Lepri, and Aiden and Anthony Lacoe; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by sister Eileen Mulholland.
The funeral will be conducted on Friday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave. with Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 pm in Immaculate Conception Church 801 Taylor Ave. Scranton. Interment to follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow. Friends and family may pay their respects Thursday from 4-7 pm. Memorial contributions in Danny’s name may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart 600 Baltimore Dr. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
