Obituary for George A. Capone

George Anthony Capone, 76, of Scranton passed away Sunday December 30, 2018 at the Gardens of Scranton. His wife is the former Joyce Huthmaker and they just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on December 11th.
Born in Scranton he was the son of the late Anthony and Dorothy Jones Capone. A graduate of Dunmore High School, Class of 1961, prior to retirement he was employed by the Trane Company for 30 years. He was also past president of Local #730 of the Plumber and Pipe Fitters Union. He was also a member of the German American Federation Club at Waldorf Park for over 48 years. During that time, he held the offices of Treasurer, Second Vice President, and Vice President. He also enjoyed the many trips with his wife to Florida. He will be deeply missed by his family.
Also surviving are son Ronald Capone and wife Lori, their daughters Barbara Sheppleman and husband Patrick, Deanna Atlee and husband Kerry, and Darlene Thomas and husband Richard; grandsons Mark Calvanese, Aaron and Kyle Atlee, and Justin Thomas; granddaughters Heather Ehrgood Wertz and husband Tim, Ashley and Kayley Capone; great-grandchildren Makayla, Carter, and Logan; brothers Jerald Capone and wife Sue, John “Jack” Capone and wife Ann, and Anthony “Tony” Capone and wife Ann Marie; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sister Beverly Capone and grandmother Marjorie Jones.
Friends and family may join George’s family in a celebration of his life on Thursday from 6 – 7:30 pm in the Waldorf Park Social Club, 13 Waldorf Lane, Scranton.
Arrangements and on-site cremation are under the care of the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave. Scranton.
