Obituary for Mary B. McDermott
Mary B. McDermott, 83 passed away on December 29 at Hospice of the Scared Heart.
Born in Throop, PA to the late Nicholas and Lillian Barone. She was the wife of John “Champ” McDermott. They were married for 65 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. Prior to retirement she was employed at Harper Collins.
Surviving are her five children, Sandra Lamanna and husband Clarance, of Clarks Summit, Donna Mead and husband Rick of Ft. Myers, Fl, Debra McDermott of Dickson City, John McDermott, Jr. and wife Donna of Chandler, AZ and Nicholas McDermott and wife Kelly of Throop; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholas Barone. Surviving are two sisters, Patricia Gaetano and Lillian McCormick.
A private Mass at St. John the Baptist Church in Throop, and interment in Throop Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements and on-site cremation are under the care of the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave.
