Ronald E. Armistead, age 85, a resident of Los Chavez, lost his 8-year battle to cancer, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. He was born to Lucille Rubello on, October 12, 1933 in Oakland, CA. Ron served his country and was a Korean War Veteran.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Lucille Rubello; and daughter, Cynthia Lynch.
Ron is survived by his partner of 12 years, Connie McNiel; son, John Pyron; daughters, Sherrie and husband, Michael Cormier, Sandra Armistead, Terri and husband, Gene Detre, Cheryl and husband, Mike Adkins, and Lucy and Selza Ferrer; 8 grandchildren, Ashley Cormier, Christina Cormier and boyfriend, Clarence Martinez, Dylan and Preston Pyron, Anna and Jason Detre, Joshua Howe, and Ronald Lynch Jr., and Kiara Abram; and 4 great-grandchildren, Aiden and Elijah Blea, Emma Cormier, and Alianna Martinez He is also survived by many loving friends. A Celebration of life will be held at the Belen VFW #2387 122 S 5th Street Belen, NM 87002, Monday, January 21, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. Potluck reception to follow.
