Obituary for Leo Catanzaro

CATANZARO

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle, Leo Catanzaro on February 6, 2019.

Leo was a gentle soul and was always there to give a helping hand. He worked as a baker at Safeway for over 30 years. Leo was an avid collector of vintage comic books and hockey cards. He enjoyed playing hockey, golf and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Leo attended St. Joseph's School, E.Q. Jennings, Port Arthur Collegiate Institute and Lakehead University.

He will be lovingly remembered by his parents Vincenzo and Giuseppina Catanzaro, brothers Domenic (Cathy) and Paul (Maria), nephew Stasio, sisters Felicia and Anna Maria Santorelli (Peter), nieces Olivia and Sophia, numerous cousins, aunts and uncles in Canada and Italy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 when family and friends will gather in St. Anthony's R.C. Church for Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 am, celebrated by Rev. Luigi Filippini. Entombment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street with a Vigil Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 pm. Should friends desire, memorial donations to Teen Challenge or the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation- Mental Health Unit would be appreciated.
