Condolence: A full life, well lived. Fr. Mark's memories of him were spot on. While he was indeed a loner and could be tough, as Fr. Mark said, he was always fair and that is my memory of him.
He taught Geology, possibly the only person in the GTA to have done so. I took his course (which he offered regardless of how many students were in it!) and it opened my eyes: it is because of this opportunity that I, later on, became a Professor of Geology. His passion for the arts and sciences left a lasting impact on me and the way I live my life.
Thanks Fr. Cyril and RIP. You've lived the good life and we're all better for having known you.

Condolence: I have very fond memories of Fr. Cyril from my high school years at St. Basil's. I remember his passion for geology and our trip to Madoc, Ontario in search of minerals and fossils. He had a keen intellect and taught "hard core" sciences and I always marvelled that he was both a man of faith and a man of science. I was fortunate enough to see his humorous side a few times, and to meet him at our reunion at the new location of St. Basil's. As Father Mark mentioned at the funeral liturgy, Fr. Cyril was a talented man and a polymath. He will be sorely missed. Thank you for the religious instruction and teaching.

Condolence: Dear Family, Basilian Fathers, Friends, and Former Parishioners and Students of Fr Cyril! We offer our prayers and condolences on his passing into eternal life. We came to know Fr Cyril during his 20 years in Ottawa, and thank God for parish growth during his time here. Fr. Mark Zazula's eulogy was spot on (although we didn't think Fr Cyril was "long-winded", here, in Ottawa :). Among other things, what will continue to inspire is that Fr Cyril chose to "enjoy his retirement" by taking on pastoral duties that were every bit as demanding as his pre-retirement duties. And he did this for 20 years! Vichnaya pamiat'!

Condolence: My deepest condolences to the family of Fr. Cyril and the Basilian Fathers. I have so many wonderful memories of Fr. Cyril from my years as a student at St. Basils Basilica in Weston, Ontario. He captured so many memories as our schools official photographer! I also remember the Geology trip we took with Fr. Cyril. He had such a passion for things he was interested in. He also had a wonderful sense of humor. May you rest in peace Fr. Cyril.

Condolence: Please accept our condolences to Fr. Cyril’s immediate Family as well as his Basilian family. We will miss Fr. Cyril, he was a dedicated priest, great educator and above all else a friend. My introduction to Fr. Cyril started when I spent summers as a replacement cook for the Monastery in Weston. During that time I also participated in a few of his geological excursions in Ontario. He was a keen collector and made geology interesting for his students. My mother Katharine Bodnarchuk, became the monasteries’ permanent cook and Fr. Cyril became an honorary family member along with the rest of the Fathers. He co-celebrated at my wedding and was someone you could rely on when you needed an uplifting friend and advisor. I attended the pysanka writing group at St. Volodymyr and Olga Church in Thornhill as well as Fr. Cyril, where his mathematical background helped him create some very detailed and precise pysanky. He was often a quiet person seemingly lost in thought perhaps about his next projects but he also had a great sense of humour. He was a skilled and artistic photographer, I still have some of his photography decorating my home. We remember those years fondly.

Rest In Peace Fr. Cyril, Vichnaya Pamyat!
