Obituary for Brenda Powers

POWERS, BRENDA MAE Brenda Mae Powers, 81, of Moncton, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Henrietta (Dickie) Brassett. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be remembered by many for her wonderful hairdressing skills.She was a member of the Moncton Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was very active within her church. Her hobbies included music, especially playing the piano and singing. Brenda will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Gilbert “Gil” Powers; sons, Gary (Margaret) of Stewiacke, NS and Donald of Moncton; grandchildren, Krista Adams (Bradley) of Winnipeg, MB and Alyson MacMichael (Greigh) of Halifax, NS; great grandchildren, Makayla Elizabeth and Nathan Bradley. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Alice. Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Mr. Roger Robichaud officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery, in the spring. In Brenda’s memory donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
