Obituary for David Kay

David J. Kay, 84, of McKees Mills, passed away peacefully at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital on Sunday February 13, 2011. Born in McKees Mills, he was the son of the late Robert and Hilda May (Kirk) Kay. David was retired from CNR Express as a driver with over 31 years service, a member of Zion United Church, McKees Mills and was a Senior Elder, having served his church on various boards and committees over the past 50 years. He was a life member of Zetland Lodge #24 F & AM, Shediac Cape and Past Patron of Zetland Chapter #26 O.E.S., Shediac Cape. David will be sadly missed by his loving wife of over 50 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Clare) Kay, sister, Pauline Davis of Moncton and several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Susie (1980) and Agnes (2003). Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Tuesday 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Zetland Chapter #26 O.E.S., Memorial Service Tuesday at 6:30pm followed by Zetland Lodge #24 F & AM Memorial Service at 6:45pm. Funeral Service will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday February 16, 2011, 2:00pm, Rev. Claudia Keller officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery, McKees Mills, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Zion United Church, McKees Mills or memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at www.fergusonknowlesfh.com
