Obituary for Melda Blakney

BLAKNEY, MELDA FLORENCE - 1933 - 2013 - Melda F. Blakney of Upper Coverdale passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Eloise (Prosser) Milton. Melda retired from J.M.A. High School after many dedicated years as a custodian. Melda enjoyed quilting, watching harness racing, bowling and above all she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her two sons Stephen Blakney (Tammy) of Moncton and Ross Blakney (Susan) of Boundary Creek; seven grandchildren Lesley (Bruce), Jillian (Chris), Bradley (Amy), Jonathan (Kim), Paul (Alice), Melissa (Terry) and Stephanie; 11 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Nancy Blakney (the late Bill); sisters Muriel (late Karl) Pedersen of Riverview and Dorothy (late Hansel) Power of Riverview; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Edward \'Ted\' Blakney in 1998; by her son Bill Blakney in 2000 and by her brother Fred Milton. Visitation will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at The Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeff Irving officiating. Interment will be in Wesleyan Union Cemetery. Donations in Melda's memory made to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview, NB (506) 857-9544. Online condolences can be made at www.tuttlefuneralhome.ca
