Obituary for Peggy Steeves

STEEVES, PEGGY ANN - 1962 - 2013 - Peggy Ann Steeves, 50, of Moncton passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on February 18th, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Moncton on May 30, 1962 the daughter of the late Ronald Steeves and Thelma (Tower) Steeves of Moncton. She was a member of the Hillsborough Baptist Church. Peggy worked at the Co-op on Mapleton Drive. She loved to sing, she was a great cook and also loved to travel. She had a very outgoing personality and loved working with the public, always greeting everyone with that big beautiful smile. Peggy lived her life to the fullest and was always there for her family. She loved her family very much and they definitely have a new guardian angel looking down on them. She has had a rough road but she was always encouraging others, not feeling bad for herself. Peggy was a very special lady who will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. She will be deeply missed her mother, Thelma Steeves of Moncton; common-law husband, Willie Douthwright of Moncton; daughter, Shelby Harper of Moncton; sisters, Penny Cunningham (Dave) of Riverview, Kimberly Turner (Ron) of Albert Mines and Katrina Currie (Allen) of Hillsborough; brothers, Timothy Steeves (Carolin) of Hillsborough and John Steeves (Katherine) of Colpitts Settlement. She will also be deeply missed by all her extended family- The Douthwright Family; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and by her many friends. She was predeceased by her father, Ronald and nephew, Dana Butland. There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21st, 2013 at 2:00pm with Rev. Tim Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Albert Mines Cemetery, Albert Mines, in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
