Obituary for Wade Wry

WRY, WADE HARRY Wade H. Wry, 67, within the comfort of his home and surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2015. Born in Harcourt, he was the son of Betty (Beers) of Moncton and the late Harry Wry. Wade was a former member of the Moncton City Police Force, worked for Star Electric and in 1981 he bought Geldart’s Warehouse and Cartage, a small business which, along with his brother, Dean and son, Marty, and many loyal employees, he built Geldart’s up to what it is today. He has won many awards with United Van Lines. In 2008, Geldart’s was nominated for “Quality Member of the Year” with United Van Lines. The last two years in a row, Geldart’s was voted by the Reader’s Choice Awards to be Moncton’s #1 Mover. In addition to his mother, Betty, Wade will be sadly missed by his wife of over 17 years, Judy (Robinson); daughter, Bobbi-Jo (Ron) of Riverview; son, Marty (Sandra) of Moncton and Marty’s son and Wade’s first grandson to arrive in February; step-daughter, Stacey (Tim) and step-grandchildren, Rylee and Sawyer of Riverview; sisters, Jaunita Scott (Dean) of Clairville, Shelley Cail (David) of Harcourt; brothers, Dean (Bernice) of Moncton, Dana of Brookfield, NS, Jim (Debbie) of Mundleville and many nieces and nephews. Wade loved his family and that was the first thing he told them whenever he met them. He loved travelling and would head to the sun on a moment’s notice. When Wade entered a room, his height, his hair, his smile and his personality let you know he was there, but his heart was what stayed with you. He gave and supported everyone and everything, mostly behind the scenes. You knew he was standing beside you supporting you. Wade was a member of City Club and a member of Casino NB. Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Wade’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hildegard Drive, on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Martin Kreplin officiating. Reception following the service. Interment will be held at St. James Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Beersville, in the spring. Family flowers only. The family asks that you direct donations in Wade’s memory to St. James Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
