Obituary for J. David Cunningham

CUNNINGHAM, J. DAVID - J. David Cunningham passed away unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Born on April 23, 1952, he was the son of the late Joan (Long) Cunningham and John Cunningham. Loving husband to Dianne (Vincent) Cunningham. Dave was the manager at Castle Funeral Home and was in funeral service for 25 years. His care and compassion for people touched the many families that he cared for. Dave enjoyed sports and played on many different hockey and baseball teams throughout his life and he especially enjoyed watching his kids play their sports. He enjoyed going to the horse races at the track, golfing and more recently travelling with his wife. His most enjoyable times were with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Dianne; son, Geoff; daughter, Heidi (Greg MacLeod); sister, Sue (Gord) McDonald, of Toronto, Ontario; nieces and nephews, Rob, Tim, Niels, Annah, Emmah, Nicole, Nickolas, Danny, Nickolaj, Robin, Cathleen, Colleen and Shane; father-in-law, Roy (Connie) Vincent; brothers-in-law, Gary (Kathleen), Bob (Paula) and LeRoy (Janet); sister-in-law, Carolyn (Harry) and many, many friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Lisa Vincent. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West, (634-1701) visitation will take place on Saturday, October 22, 2011 and Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery and a reception will be held at the Assumption Center. Donations, in memory of Dave, may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the Elisa Vincent Memorial Fund at Silver Falls Church. Online condolences may be made at www.castlefh.com.
