Obituary for John Wright

WRIGHT, JOHN ALAN It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Alan Wright announce his passing on May 22, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. John was born in Saint John, NB on August 4, 1942 to the late John and Helen (Cathline) Wright and was the loving husband to his wife of 54 years, Phyllis (Smith) Wright. Although John loved to read books and watch TV and was a classic car enthusiast and a history buff, he was anything but a quiet man. He loved to tease. He loved music and had very eclectic tastes. For almost 30 years, John worked as a truck driver for LaFarge Ready Mix and did not have the opportunity to retire before his passing. He was a hard worker and a family man; family was very important to him and he will be dearly missed. He is survived by his three sons; John (Jane), Wayne (Virginia) and Glendon Wright, five grandchildren; Sarah, Ryan, Emily, Hillary and Reilly, sister Janice (John) Levy and sister-in-law Brenda Wright, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins and special family friend Tammi Mackey. Along with his parents, John was predeceased by his brother Eric James Wright. Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A Celebration of John’s life will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11am. Donations made in memory of John to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
